Empower Technical Services is pleased to announce the Motor Neurone Disease Association as its official charity partner for 2026.
Motor neurone disease (MND) affects nerves in the brain and spinal cord (known as motor neurones) which control movement, causing muscles to weaken and stop working. It is a rapidly progressing condition that doesn't have a cure - yet. The MND Association supports people living with MND, campaigns for better care and funds ground-breaking research. The charity’s vision is a world free from MND.
Through this partnership, Empower will work with the Association to raise greater awareness of MND and catalyse funding through a range of employee-led fundraising initiatives, including a 25km team Ultra Challenge along the Thames Path in September.
Pete Collins, Corporate Development Manager at the MND Association, said “We are delighted that Empower Technical Services have chosen to support the MND Association as its charity partner. We look forward to working alongside the business and its employees to raise vital funds and awareness which will help make every day matter for people living with and affected by MND.”
Nick Manning, CEO of Empower, commented "This is a cause very close to my heart, having lost a family member to MND. I witnessed firsthand the significant impact this disease has on those affected and their families alongside the exceptional support by the MND Association.
“Our team is proud to support the MND Association and we look forward to working with the organisation on some creative awareness and fundraising activities – and hope we can inspire others to do the same!”
Six people are diagnosed with MND every day in the UK, and up to 5,000 people are living with MND at any one time. Learn more about the MND Association and visit our JustGiving page to donate.
