Job type: Full time, 07:30-17:00 Monday to Friday
Location: Blackburn, BB2 2QB
Salary: £17.25-£20.55 per hour, depending on experience
Rosewood Engineering (part of the Empower Group) is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our expanding organisation within the Wastewater sector.
The successful candidate will support site-based mechanical works, including installation, refurbishment, commissioning, and handover of equipment, working safely and efficiently to agreed standards and deadlines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Strip down, refurbish, and rebuild a variety of mechanical machinery and equipment using provided components and parts
- Carry out commissioning activities and complete handover of equipment to clients upon project completion
- Work in accordance with job‑specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets to a high standard
- Ensure all Health & Safety documentation is completed accurately and to a high standard
- Work independently or as part of a site team, depending on project requirements
- Demonstrate a proactive and positive approach to problem solving
- Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales and project deadlines
- Travel and work away from home when required (night allowance and accommodation provided)
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and site‑specific safety requirements at all times
Job Requirements
- Experience in mechanical fitting and assembly of components
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
- Ability to work flexibly, including staying away from home when required
- 3 years experience within Mechanical Engineering
- Ideally based in or around the Lancashire area
- Previous experience within the water or wastewater industry
- CSCS card or equivalent
- Confined Space Training
